ABOUT B DELIGHT'D
About our Massage
The technique we use, Shiatsu massage, is Japanese. The word Shiatsu is actually the combination of 2 words. "Shi" meaning finger, and "atsu" meaning pressure. We use this finger/thumb pressure throughout the massage. We believe it is the application of this pressure included in our massage that makes it so effective.

In the body there is what is known as "life force energy" that flows through the body through pathways called meridians. When these pathways become blocked or restricted so does this flow of energy. By applying pressure to certain points in the body it clears stagnations, opens up those pathways, and restores this flow of "life force" energy through the body. This energy flow is a vital part of the body's design and one essential to maintaining good health, along with proper diet, exercise etc.

The muscle system is the system responsible for movement/motion of the horse, so if there is interference or restriction in that system, it is going to restrict that movement/motion. You are going to lose some range of motion and it is going to require more energy from the horse to get that motion.

Massage stimulates the muscles and increases blood circulation, which allows more nutrients to the muscles. The muscle tone, flexibility, suppleness, strength, and overall function of the muscle system is going to be improved. It is going to open up that range of motion. Your horse is going to have a new freedom to move when they are no longer being held back by that tightness, and it's going to require less energy from the horse! Massage is going to lengthen that stride and smooth out that gait too, so we're going to have a more comfortable ride!

About the Therapist
My name is Berta Delight Pinon. I am a Certified Equine Shiatsu/Sports Massage Therapist.
I have a tremendous love for horses and always have! As a young girl, my family lived in the city where we couldn't have horses. Honestly, being one of eight children, we didn't have the means either! But every Saturday we possibly could, my sister Kim and I would walk the 3 miles to the nearest riding stable just to be able to spend an hour or two riding those amazing animals! Now I know it wasn't "uphill both directions, barefoot, and in the snow",

 however; it was quite a distance for a young kid! But, because we so loved horses, we would have gladly walked twice as far! As a young teen my family moved to Yorba Linda, Ca. and we were then able to have horses of our own. Horses have been a part of my life since and I have owned my own horses for over 20 years.

I believe we are to be the best stewards we can be of those things we have been blessed with, and so began, my journey toward equine massage. What started just as a desire to attain the knowledge to be able to help my own horses, soon became the discovery of a
tool so powerful, I just couldn't keep it to myself !

I have had the privilege of massaging horses used in many disciplines including cutting horses, trail horses, racehorses, show horses, and other performance horses, and I can assure you it doesn't matter what sort of activities you are involved in with your horse, they can all benefit from massage. Your horse is going to feel better, they are going to be more comfortable, and I think feeling good lends itself to cooperation. So I believe you'll find you have a horse that is more willing to do the things you are asking him to do, and with the physical benefits of massage, your horse is going to be better equipped to give you the performance you are looking for!
If you have some work to do,
Start this very hour;
You supply the willingness,
God supplies the power!

Children are a heritage,
A gift from God above;
He asks you to protect and care
And nourish them with love. - Hess
